Girls Club/Yosemite Valley Library Map
Here is a rough map to the Girls Club/Yosemite Valley Library in Yosemite Village in case you’re not sure where that is.

If the government remains shut down, I will not be able to get a key for the Girls Club. I’m looking for an alternate meeting location. Please let me know if you have any ideas. If we are unable to find an alternate location, we may need to push the meetup and art supply swap until another month.

What to Expect:

General Plan:

Sunset is at 4:55 pm, so assuming the government shutdown is resolved, we’ll be able to get a key to get into the Yosemite Valley Library for some well-lighted, indoor exploration.

Bring:

  • “Extra” art supplies for the supply swap. Do you have any unused supplies taking up space in your drawers or closets? Bring them to the art supply swap and exchange them for some exciting new-to-you materials to explore
  • Something to explore in your journal: Since this will be a mostly indoor event, you may wish to bring something to work on in your nature journal/sketch book. Pictures are fine, though something 3D always leaves more room for discovery and questions.
  • Something to write with and on. Something to add some color with can also be fun. I’ll try to have some extra stuff if you forget, but a bit of printer paper and a pen or pencil is also just fine! The goal here is to slow down and observe the natural world around us, and put our insights and questions on paper.
  • A headlamp or other light – Assuming we have access to indoor space, lights would mostly be for navigating to and from the Girls Club in the dark.
  • Your Curiosity and Wonder. The last thing on the list, but the most important.

Parking

Official public parking is at the main Village Parking area. Please contact me if some additional directions/suggestions would be helpful!
