Yosemite’s high country is the place to be during mid-summer as the park starts heating up in earnest. We are still putting together details for the Field Trip on July 19, but if you are interested and would like to be kept posted on the latest info, please fill out the RSVP & Interest form so that we can let you know what is going on.
The Basics
Yosemite Nature Journaling Group activities, including the field trips, are free to attend, and beginners are very welcome. You don’t have to be an expert naturalist, or a professional artist or poet to slow down, notice the beauty and wonder of the world around you, ask questions, and make connections. In fact, sometimes the questions are more interesting than the answers!
At each event, we usually do a brief introduction, break into groups, and set out to explore the world through nature journaling. Those new to nature journaling are invited to hang back for a short orientation before dispersing. At the end of the event, we regroup and enjoy sharing and discussing the things that we have discovered.

What to Bring
I’ll work on updating this list more later, but in general, plan to bring your personal gear to spend a day in the outdoors, something to write with, and on. Many people will have a sketchbook or notebook of some sort, but any piece of paper and a pen/pencil will also work.
